Just a note from the update:

*As a continuation of last year’s “Territory and District UI Changes” that saw language district restrictions removed for America and Europe, we are now removing restrictions on travel to Asian language districts.

------------------------------
anyone else a little worried about how this will effect spamadan and the like (i mean its hard enough as it is)

Sadly, it was the first thing I thought of when I saw that, but hopefully ANet has some foresight and is able to curb it somewhat.

What do you mean? Are you concerned about a greater populous in American/Euro District 1?

I don't think it will be so bad because AD1 is usually jam-packed anyway and requires a couple of attempts to actually get in.

Yeah, or may be they need our help?

Reporting a player for spamming sends a notification to the GM team. GMs may conduct a careful review of that player's behavior. If a player is found to have been spamming excessively, that player's account may be banned.

Hah, that is true you are right. But still, I don't like being a full-time reporter . If it gets too bad obviously ANet should do something. I know some people get a kick out of reporting, but I want to play and the such.

There will be no spam.
Why should spam increase?

1.) Gold Farmers were already using Euro/US accounts, because this is where their customers are. They were and are already spamming Balthazar's temple.
2.) GW is rather unsuccessful in Korea and in Asia in general. We will not see too many Korean players.

Maybe we will now experience how few Koreans play GW. There are not many Korean guilds compared to Europe and America. Japan is hardly different.

The whole point of the command is that there should be no full-time /reporters. It's by the fact that many people will issue a few reports that a good portion of the spamming community can be kicked out. No one is forcing us, but we can make it work.

All the articles and reports I read make Asia the center of the gold-selling/RMT world. It does not mean that Asian GW players will spam, it simply means that the Asian spammer will have access to other server and they will probably use this to their advantage.

And if I'm wrong, this topic will quickly go into the depth of GWG, for good.

Also, I think this is a good step up for ANet.

Doesn't this mean we should be able to create characters with Asian lettering in their names?

How is that racist? It's a fact-- the Asians I played with in Diablo had poor English skills and spammed a lot. I didn't say anything derogatory about their race, I have plenty of Asian friends.

So please, don't try to make something out of nothing.

Cool, full removal of the district restrictions? Sounds interesting.

I can't say I like the idea of Koreans coming, though. While they can be nice people, a vast number of them like to use hacks and accuse anyone who beats them of hacking in online games. StarCraft and mass unit movement, anyone? (And then they have the nerve to say they're good at StarCraft when all they did was spam create Zerglings and then use their little hacks to make every Zergling attack simultaneously and bypass the normal select restriction, thus violating the spirit of fair play and losing any right to claim skill at StarCraft.) Can't stand it. This isn't racism, it's just an observation that apparently cheating in online games is acceptable in Korea.

Indeed, even emptier than International.

I think I might stay at them now ;D Even closer to having a fully instanced outpost.
